Large In-House Pattern Making Facility
Pattern Making for Precision Sand Castings
CFL’s pattern shop and tooling Director has been with us for nearly 40 years. CFL’s in-house team of highly skilled patternmakers produce a wide range of tooling for the foundry industry, using metal, wood, model board and resin.
Pattern making underpins the entire casting process. Accuracy at this stage directly affects the quality, repeatability and cost of the final component.
At Cerdic Foundries, patterns are produced with a clear understanding of how the casting will behave, not just how it will look. Allowances for shrinkage, machining and material flow are built in from the outset. This avoids issues later in production and helps ensure consistent results across batches.
We work from existing drawings or develop patterns in-house, supporting both one-off components and repeat production.
Core Making
Patterns can be easily modified, adapted and repaired on the site therefore giving the customer a fast and reliable service.
The pattern shop can manufacture traditional patterns from 2D drawings through to a full design service using 3D modelling and CAD-CAM machining.
